BOSSIER CITY, LA (By: Tom Pace, Executive Editor, Talk of the Town) HAYNESVILLE SHALE UPDATE:  9pm 7-29-08  It was a packed house inside the Bossier Parish Community College Gym Tuesday night, July 29th, for yet another public seminar on the Haynesville Shale.

More than a thousand folks attended the two-hour seminar by the Bossier Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Bossier Economic Development Foundation.  Click here to listen as Kevin McCotter talks with Tom Pace about the Haynesville Shale being the largest natural gas find in the U.S.

The audience took notes, some even videotaped the speakers and their power-point presentations on the two big video screens.  The topics covered included the importance of the oil and gas industry in Louisiana; seismic activity; legal aspects of leasing; asset management; and city/parish ordinances on drilling.

The guest speakers included Don Briggs, President - Louisiana Oil & Gas Association (LOGA); Kevin Hill, President - Hill Geophysical Consulting ; Robert Kyle, General Counsel - Brammer Engineering, Inc.; and  Sam Marsiglia, Director - City of Bossier Metropolitan Planning Commission.

It's anticipated there will be even more seminars as the level of leasing and interest in the Haynesville Shale grows.
