BREAKING 2pm 8-15-08 Emma Meeks Competes in Texas Country Music Hall of Fame Showdown
Click here to listen Emma's interview with Tom Pace from "The Talk of the Town." She'll be singing her own arrangement of Dolly Parton's hit "Here You Come Again," with Cole Vosbury accompanying Meeks on guitar.
For young Emma, it all started back on June 28th, as she made the cut from out of some 60 competitors (mainly adults) who were performing in Carthage, Texas. Miss Meeks advanced to the Top 20 in the division of non-professional vocalist with guitar or piano accompaniment (no bands).
By making the cut of 20 singers, today Emma is working to make the coveted “Top 5 Finalists”...who then are all seeking the title of "2008 Grand Prize Winner." Trophies will also be awarded for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Place Finalists.
Emma recently finished 3rd in the "Music City Rising Star Competition" held in Nashville, Tenn.
There were 250 total contestants accepted for that event, about 50 of which competed in the 16 year-old category.
