BREAKING 3pm 8-22-08 Ernie Roberson: Early Voting Begins Aug 23- Hours Extended 'til 6pm Daily

SHREVEPORT, LA (By: Tom Pace, Talk of the Town) BREAKING: VOTER NEWS 3pm 8-22-08 Caddo Parish and all Louisiana voters will now be able to vote early until 6pm for the Sept. 6th Congressional Primaries across the state. 

Caddo Parish Registrar of Voters Ernie Roberson reports today that the U.S. Justice Department has pre-cleared the Louisiana legislative act, that extends the early voting hours from 4:30 pm until 6:00 pm each day. Those extended hours will be the same for all Louisiana parishes.


Caddo Parish Early Voting for Sept. 6th District 4 Primary

Early voting for the September 6th party primaries for U.S. Congress will be held on the following dates and times at the Caddo Registrar of Voters office, 525 Marshall, Suite # 103 in downtown Shreveport across from the Courthouse.


Sat. Aug. 23; Monday, Aug 25- Sat. Aug 30: 8:30am-6pm Daily

(Early Voting Closed Sunday, August 24th)


Voters should be prepared to stand in line for at least 30 minutes, bring water, if necessary and handicapped voters should notify the Registrarís staff upon arrival. Please bring proof of identity such as a driverís license, governmental i.d., etc.
Republicans will vote on Republican candidates only.

Democrats will vote on Democratic candidates, while Other party, No party and members of non-recognized parties will be eligible to vote in the Democratic Party primary by a choice of the Democratic party.

Libertarians, Reform and Green Party members will not have a primary. Check your voter info at www.sos.louisiana.gov, click on Poll Locator.
