It wasn't a hard search. You can HEAR the Speedy Gonzales in Bandito's voice.

LOL from the first "Aye, yii, yii, yiiii," I could just see Bugs strolling along, and singing some song, ol' Bugs was always singing something.

But yea, you could just about hear a little bit of Bugs, daffy and all the other voices he did over the years come through in the Frito Bandito.

not going back quite as far as the Frito Bandito, which ran from '67 to the early 70's I believe. Anyone remember Space 1999 ? It was just another cheesy 70's scifi t.v. show :D First aired in '75

OK, next test... How many of you ate Space Food Sticks(tm) as a child back in the late 60's or early 70's? I remember MAKING my mom ask the manager at Brookshires at Madison Park when they would get space food sticks. Eventually they did. I was in space !

Space Food Sticks, I wonder what marketing genius came up with that idea :D

Nope can't say I ever had one of those, or ever heard of such.

Oh man it didn't get any better than drinking Tang and eating space food sticks like the astronauts! The peanut butter flavor was the best. I didn't care much of the chocolate or carmel flavors.

Almost as good as "Fizzies".. Anyone remember those alka-selzer-like drink flavor tablets that fizzed when dropped into a glass of water?? I used to chew on the rootbeer flavor "straight up" which had a "pop rocks" like effect!! LOL

"Space Food Sticks" are the original. I never heard of A-OK Space Energy Sticks which is obviously a rip off. :D

I remember pop rocks my grandmother bought them for me all the time. They would sizzle in your mouth. I wonder why they quit making them.

They still make Pop Rocks, caught my kids with those things here pretty recently.

ya know its weird...I remember Tang being the drink of astronauts and all that, but I dont remember the "Space Food Sticks"? Sounds like I missed out on a good thing there. Hey, remember those little wadded-up paper spitwad thingies that would blow up when you threw them against a hard surface? Those were a blast, and I think they still make em. Back when they came out in the 70's they were a big hit with us kids. My dad showed us a way to make our own...all ya needed was a common roll of paper caps, like the old fashioned capguns used, a BB, and some plastic wrap. You'd cut off a little square of paper cap, place the BB behind it, then twist it up in the little square of plastic wrap...PRESTO! Worked like a charm, too.

I just thought of another "age test"...who remembers "Ultra Man"? How about "Captain Scarlett"? There was this one show along the same lines as Ultra Man, sort of a Japanese production, where the bad guys had these cars that could convert to planes. Maybe that WAS Ultra Man. The bad guys wore these black pantyhose things over their faces, and when one of the good guys shot them, theyd turn into a puddle of vomit on the floor? Anybody remember that?

Or how about "Dark Shadows", with Barnabus Collins? Or how about the monday night "Creature Feature"? Buwhahahaha:eek:

I remember Ultra Man, but that was so long ago that I can't remember a thing about the series.

They actually sell those poppers in the south for mardi gras. They also sell them at the $1 store, in s. la that is.

Does anyone remember stretch armstrong? Or the clackers that were made out of some type of glass in the 60's? They were gorgeous and stopped making them I assume due to the danger of them cracking. I know I had a couple of them now they are plastic and not the same.

I want to know the name of this 1970's toy. It was comprised of a plastic ring. To the ring were secured two strings. Each string was in turn connected to a glass sphere. The object was to hold the ring and flip your wrist in order to make the two glass balls strike each other. This made a clicking sound. Shortly after marketing, the toy was recalled because the glass balls were breaking and causing injuries to eyes.
