Deuce's 1st down to secure the win

Check out this video, it starts off with Deuce's first down, that secured the win, then it shows the next few plays of the Saints running out the clock.
Taken from someone in the crowd up around the nose bleed section.
The video is not that great, but the Crowd is simply INSANE at this point.

if I had been sober enough when Reggie fumbled away that ball

It sounds like you where blind when ole Reggie muffed the play :p Now I watched the Bears play and their quarterback seemed to have a bad right hand. What will be a real show down next week and then on to the big bowl game and then a year to soke it in. Congrats to the Saints !

Season ticket holder.. wow ? were you at that game Saturday night ??
I saw a clip someone had made using their cell phone or something.. the last few seconds of the game.. it was just so Incredibly loud, sounded absolutely insane ! :)

:gosaints:

I'm a season ticket holder as well. I was at the game Saturday. It was the loudest I've ever heard the dome...Atlanta game included. It was awesome.

It was insane and a first for the Saints and something they can never take away. Good coach, quarterback and running backs along with a great set of linemen on both sides of the Saints team and this will take them to the Bowl and God forbid anyone gets hurt. I think keeping this thread alive will help old late night to not loose his mind before this Sat. The year of the Saint is here maybe the world is going to end :D "The coming of the Saints" what we have all been waiting for !

Hey there Saint Greg, thanks for stopping by. I've managed to see a few more videos of those last few seconds taken from the game.. that crowd sounded absolutely apocalyptic. Glad you got to witness it all first hand.

LOL yup.. it's funny, I think I was more worried about the Eagles game than I am about the Chicago game.. maybe it's because I'm still a bit numb .. I'm in shock :)

News flash, this thread made it to the "TOP THREADS" on the front page :)

Thanks there HeadlyLemar. A former Illinois man.. I guess we'll let that slide.. from what I understand, Saints head coach Sean Payton spent many of his formative years there in Chicago :)

I stopped in a pizza joint in Springfield I believe it was, shot some pool and had a few beers with strangers.. had a blast.

Geaux SAINTS !!!

I hope he learned some tricks while he was there. Everybody I have talked to think the Saints will blow the Bears out ? I hope that the Saints are not so over confident. Should be a great game and then the Big Bowl for the Saints
and let us hope its not the toilet bowl.

I don't think Coach Payton will let them get too confident.
Everyone was also saying we were gonna blow out the Eagles, and man that game was too close for my taste.

I try to keep telling myself that even though the Bears have a better record than the Saints this year, it's because the Bears had one of the easiest schedules in the league (what I've heard anyway).

Somehow they have managed to win all those games this year. But if the Saints manage to blow them out.. ALL THE BETTER !!!

Under the guidance of Sean Payton, Brees, Deuce McAllister, Reggie Bush, Marques Colston and company have been an absolute machine. The Saints, the National Football Leagues top offense in the regular season at 391.5 yards per game, went out last week and set this years playoff high total of 435 yards of offense against the Eagles in the divisional round. Even more impressive was the balance the Saints displayed, totaling 208 yards on the ground and 227 yards through the air. McAllister has the Bears' attention after running through the 'Birds for 143 yards.
Just knock me out.. and wake me up on Sunday!!!

That could be good news because the quarterback for the Bears has a bad paw and the cold will not help his hand. I noticed that last week he got his hand mashed more than one time and I think the Saints know about that paw and will be working on it this week :D
Snow Man

yea it's gonna be COLD FOR SURE! Check this out, found a Saints FAN Tribute video..

Hey there all you sports fans !

How's it going ? In less than 48 hours, we'll know the outcome, whether or not the SAINTS are headed to the SuperBowl !!!?????

And hey, if it snows in Chicago on Sunday.. well, I guess they'll get wet. Personally I think if it is snowing, it might even be to our advantage. What with the running game we got going on now.

Check out this video someone put together, with plenty of Deuce highlights.

oh man... :o

I hear some Saints fans have been getting malled by the media getting off the train in Chicago. Wish I could be at that game. I rode that "City of New Orleans" train from New Orleans to Chicago once, nice ride. Probably lots of fun if you can get in the lounge car with a bunch of Saints fans headed to Chicago.. I bet the parties already started !

Found this article on the Times Picayune site by Chris Rose
Winner wonderland It's more th an the Chicago weather giving Saints fans the chills

He's a long time Saints fan, and talkin' about making the trip to cover the game in Chicago.. a good read.

Thought this was good for a laugh..
Free TVs for some if Saints win Super Bowl

Quote:

JACKSON, Miss. (Jan. 19, 2007) -- It seemed the safest gamble a businessman could make.

The owners of Cowboy Maloney's Electric City chain in Mississippi offered anyone who bought a high-end flat-screen TV during Saints training camp their money back if the Saints won the Super Bowl.

"At that time we obviously didn't anticipate -- and anybody who saw the Saints working out at Millsaps (College) would not have anticipated -- that that statement would cause you any grief at all," said Con Maloney, who owns the chain of 12 electronics and appliance stores with his brothers, Eddie and Johnny. "We just kind of laughed it off."

Now, the Maloney brothers are preparing to pay back about $1 million to more than 800 customers. That money will come from insurance and manufacturers who have agreed to pick up a portion of the costs.
Come on Saints, make 'em pay for those TVs !!!!

Everything that has a beginning has ..............

Well now late in the forth and things look bad real bad. My hat is off to the entire team and all you fans that have held the line over the years. I have not had my drink yet but it is 5:00 and the way things look might be a good time for one. There is always next year I thought this might be the year but a soggy field and snow and the zebras sucked big time. Well off to dinner and relax for the evening hey there late night be proud of your team they gave you something my dadddy's Saints could not.
Isaac :gosaints:

LateNight 01-21-2007 06:02 PM

Yea, agreed there Isaac. Tough game, can't win a game with that many turnovers.. I'm in shock.. time to get numb.

There's always next year... :(

rhertz 01-21-2007 06:56 PM

My condolences to you Latenight. I know how much you wanted the Saints to win. There are no words....

Yea it's tough.. tryin' to look at the bright side if at all possible. Saints were NEVER expected to do as well as they did this year. A new coach, a new QB, several new rookies and whole bunch of other new players this year.

They pulled it all together and had a hell of a run.

THERE'S ALWAYS FREAKIN' NEXT YEAR !!!! UGHHHHHH :)

and one last time..... :gosaints:

HeadlyLemar 01-23-2007 09:53 AM

the loss bites.....

BUT, can you imagine what this team is going to be like with another full offense to upgrade (that overacheiving defense)?

With likely departures of Joe Horn, Charles Grant, (Fred Thomas)?

Upgrades at FS (Roman Harper was a steal and should be the stud at SS for years) and everywhere else on that defense.

Brian Young needs to be replaced badly and more team speed at every position is needed. I have no delusions that Fincher will break an NFL starting lineup, Fujita is the man, but Shanle and Simoneau need help. I am not sold on the efficiency of Thomas or McKenzie, either - but replacing Bullocks (and getting a pass rush) would go a long way in making them look better
