I like duck, quail, chicken, tuna, beef, pork, shrimp, crawfish, catfish, heck, if it walks, crawls or swims, I'm game!! :D My position is this. Some things are best eatten cooked, and some things are best eatten raw. Either extreme could be hazardous to your health. ;) |

rhertz I had the rainbow roll last night and tried something new. The caterpillar roll with spicy tuna and avocado on top with a orange colored sauce that was very spicy. Love that sushi
A few photos of Bluefin Tuna and yes they go to auction. Bluefin are the largest of the tuna family and get up to 1200 pounds. Japan and Australia are in a nasty fight over how many are being harvested. Attachment 815 Attachment 816 |
Now those photos make me want to run out and chow down on some sushi asap... NOT! Isabella I don't like steak at all and hardly ever eat red meat or cooked fish. I'm a poultry girl!

Love that sushi. Tuna and Salmon I like and soft shell crab too. That naked chicken looks like those naked rats on the other thread

After reading all of this and seeing the pics posted, I think I will never eat any kind of meat or fish again. Thanks for totally grossing me out. LOL

Hey good news! My mother actually found some edamame today so I didn't have to go out and search again. But the ones we got were frozen and in a bag, not in the pouches like my friend had, so they didn't taste as great. But i'm still happy.
Speaking of Sushi, I plan on getting some for my birthday in August, where is the best place (priced as well) in town to get some do you think? |

I think all the sushi places in town get their ingredients from the same supplier, but I second the Ichiban recommendation.

I think that Shogun Bossier, Sushi-Ko, and Ichiban are all pretty good compared to the rest. |

As for Sushi-ko, I liked the nigirizushi. I hear they fly some of their fish in. When I went (just once) the tuna was a darker Ahi rather than a bright red yellow fin and it was good. But I did not like one of their fancy items called a "spicy tuna thing". I thought I liked anything with spicy tuna but I was wrong. |

Isaacs early attempts at Sushi  I have improved a bunch since then and I hope to post more updated photos later.

I wouldn't eat sushi from a non-local supplier. No restaurants around here do enough business to warrant daily trucks from anywhere out of town.

Not sure that I would trust Gus Majalis for my sushi... :D |

I'm waiting til August because it's my birthday and I want to go get some on my birthday. I've never been to a sushi bar and my main concern is the cost. If I was going to be able to afford this every once in a blue moon i'd rather do it on a special occasion, like my birthday. |
