John Kerry lost :D

There are those among us who wont vote for Dr. Paul because he wants to bring our armed forces home. That single issue is enough reason for some, in their ignorance, to turn their backs on freedom and liberty and to willingly continue to accept the status quo of increasing governmental intrusion into our lives, erosion of our personal freedoms, the devaluation of our currency, out-of-control taxation and spending and the redistribution of wealth for the purposes of creating a socialist state, soon to be a socialist union with our socialist neighbors north and south. You know who you are, and so do we. I've been worried about those misguided folks, and I still am, but not nearly as much as I was. Because even though some of them are beyond reach, it's still not too late for the rest to "see the light" and join our revolution...become a part of something that's bigger than we are, a movement so inspiring and powerful that the cancer that is voter apathy is steadily being beaten into remission. Hope where there was once only despair.

Mrs Hertz and I have never had a maid, but my parents did while I was growing up. Our maid and I loved to watch "Mannix" and "Cannon" together. And Hawaii-Five-O... I would eat Pepperidge Farms Blueberry turnovers.. We had lots of fun..

I watched the debate and I was shocked at how frivolous Romney and Guiliani are in terms of taking issues seriously. They always seem to be taking stabs at each other (or Fred) and act like a couple of high school kids cracking jokes. I don't know how anybody can take any of these candidates seriously when so much is at stake.

I was raised a Republican in a Republican home. My family was very conservative and professional. I was private schooled and college educated. I voted for Bush when I felt he was a good candidate. But I feel saddened about the state of the political system in this country. It has become so polarized and for once in my life I've actually felt alienated by both parties. I'm no longer a supporter of this "neocon" regime and spent a lot of time educating myself about the policies of Ron Paul.

One of the most important issues that I support Ron Paul is the non-interventionist foreign policy. I own a business with a partner in Ireland and have friends who live in Australia, Spain and England. I've become embarrassed of our political actions in Iraq and our "empire building" tradition. Especially when our domestic problems are mounting and our dollar is crumbling. Which is the second major reason why I'm a Paul supporter. I feel our economic situation is dire and I've actually come to an agreement with my partner in Ireland to start charging in Euros for our goods since the American dollar is so weak.

The first sign of the fall of an "empire" is the weakening of the currency. Our American empire supports over 700 military bases worldwide and costs us billions of dollars a year to maintain. Meanwhile, we are stuck borrowing from the Chinese to finance our needs.

What has our country come to?

If you are ashamed of this country and currency maybe time for you to move to the UK. They are the cut bait and run crowd and I am sure you will fit right in. This country will never fall !!! It maybe time for a culling away of those who do not support this country. By the way Bush is not running for president this time FYI :D It does seem that RP supporters are very aggressive with the attacks I do not see this helping Dr. Paul  Oh and welcome to the board :D

Kherty 12-23-2007 03:47 PM

I don't wish to move to the UK because I'm an American....and proud of it. That is why I'm politically active.

It's too bad that many have forgotten the ideals upon which this country was founded. Our government is supposed to protect the republic and citizens' civil liberties -- not empire build.

Are you satisfied with the job our current administration is doing? I'd be interested in hearing your viewpoints?

What are your thoughts about the state of the economy and the strength of the American dollar?

vixweb 12-23-2007 05:22 PM

Seems to me, the economy is doing pretty well. Although certain media outlets would have you think differently, None of my friends or family is "struggling", and neither am I. Sure some people are, but that will ALWAYS be the case. All around me I see entire neighborhoods being built, and homes sold as fast as they can throw em up. Unemployment is down,(at least around here). Overall, I'd say our country is in Excellent shape. Especially when you compare America to ANY other country.
Now tell us how bad it really is...... :peace:

Yes I like President Bush and think RP is not good for foreign policy. My business is doing great and I do not have to slam America to make me feel better. Currency changes all the time. You might get hurt dealing with the UK. I did not say I would never vote for him but I can not see him making it to the main election. Good luck you and your "group" have a up hill climb.

On other issues:

_Paul railed against the government's anti-drug policy, complaining that federal law overrules state laws that permit medicinal use of marijuana for pain or other symptoms of debilitating illnesses such as cancer, multiple sclerosis and other diseases. "This war on drugs is totally out of control. If you want to regulate cigarettes and alcohol and drugs, it should be at the state level," he said.

_Paul said he wants to eliminate foreign aid to Israel and other nations. "Why make Israel so dependent?" he asked. "They can't defend their borders without coming to us."
