Let's Rate A Restaurant!
Well folks it is time to spread the word on your favorite restaurants. Tell where its located, rate their service and overall cleanliness, their food preparation, comments if you have some.
Service 1 thru 10 Cleanliness 1 thru 10 Food Preparation 1 thru 10 1 being poor and 10 being excellent McDonald's Restaurant 1980 Airline Drive Bossier City Service: 2 http://www.shreveport.com/forums/ima...ons/icon13.gif Manager and Owner not helpful Cleanliness: 5 Food Preparation: 1 http://www.shreveport.com/forums/ima...ons/icon13.gif Can't get an order fixed right, has to send it back several times. Not a good place. |
I was just curious, Pie....do you go to any McDonald's now or have you boycotted them altogether?
Another restaurant that has it's moments is McAllisters. If you dine in it is alright (I know there's better food but it's quick). Everytime we've picked up they have gotten something wrong. The way they package it it is hard to tell if all is correct. Guess we will give up one day, but so far we keep hoping! |
No Pokie. went to McD's today. Let's rate it.
McDonald's Restaurant Vicking Drive Bossier City Service  4 left the fries out of the happy meals Cleanliness 5 Food preparation  2 Made burgers wrong again! |
Imperial Express Chinese Restaurant
1605 Benton Road Bossier City, La. Service 10  Nice people service Cleanliness 10  Food preparation 10  Very good food and you get a good quanity This is a very good place to eat. |
Good places to eat? I'll tell ya about a great place...Carraba's at 70th and Youree...10's across the board! Hands down the best food in Shreveport. Drop in and try the Sirloin Marsala, medium well, with garlic mashed potatos and a bowl of their sausage & bean soup (my usual order). I just cant sing the praises of that place loud enough, its that damn good.
|
OK, I was pretty sure you were kidding when you said your favorite restaurant was Chili's, but now I am certain you are joking when you say Carrabba's is "the best food in Shreveport." Carrabba's serves the same food as every other chain restaurant in town: frozen Sysco meals usually cooked in a microwave. It's not bad if that's what you're looking for, but it's not even in the top 25 "best restaurants in town." Aren't they owned by Outback?
As for getting to-go orders correct, I've ordered maybe 500 box lunches from heavenly Ham (in-office meetings and such) and even if I send a secretary with no knowledge of what anybody ordered I get every single box lunch correct every single time. |
My favorite restaurants in town are:
High end: Superior Steakhouse, Bella Fresca, and Ernests. Middle end: Superior Bar and Grill, Tokyo, Copeland's Low end : Chick Fil A, Taco Bell, and Po Boy Express! |
I ate at Bella Fresca Wednesday night. They've changed the menu (they got rid of my fish!) so it was different, but still great. It's definitely in the top few for this town.

My Review of Texas Roadhouse
I've got one!
Texas Roadhouse 1005A Gould Drive Bossier City, LA 71111 Texas Roadhouse is a nice little country steakhouse right next to Rockin Rodeo on Gould Drive. Though country music rings from the place, the music isn't so loud that you can't hear yourself think. The place is decorated with stuffed hunting game to give it a nice country, outdoors feel. I like the armadillo holding the beer bottle! :D The waitresses also tend to improve the scenery, if you catch my drift. ;) There is a nice little bar where bartenders can get you just about anything I could want. TVs with sports surround the bar, so it's not a bad place to hang out if you're looking for a place to bring your fellow sports nut buddies for a drink. The food is excellent, albeit somewhat slow in preparation, but the appetizers include a bucket of peanuts at the table (shells disposed of by tossing on the floor), some excellent rolls, and the impossibly enormous cactus blossom (sliced onion fried in a blossom pattern). Service - 6  I gave them a 6 in service because I'm a stickler for getting my food reasonably quick. Texas Roadhouse is usually average at best at their speed, so a 6 is generous. Cleanliness - 7  I give them a 7 here because the appearance of the place is very clean and well maintained. The only gripe I could possibly have is the peanut shells which aren't a huge problem. Food Preparation - 9  Oh, the food is excellent! It's everything you'd want from a steakhouse. The rolls are fantastic, the steaks are awesome, and the cactus blossom is impressive! Cost - 5  The bill was kinda pricey. Steakhouses are usually a little expensive, so I'm giving the Roadhouse an average mark here. In conclusion, I'd eat at Texas Roadhouse every week if I could. Go on by and see for yourself. |
Good Eats in North BC! VERY tasty!
A sandwich, salad, soup and wrap place. It is locally owned by kind folks and is old fashioned in appearance. It is always packed at noon! The food is delicious especially the sandwiches made panini style!:) |
My favorite restaurants in town are:
High-end: Superior Steakhouse and Chianti's Middle end: Sushi bars! Low end : Sandwiches from Target. Darn good for $2.99 |
Did anybody try Wine Country before it closed? It's closed due to a structural issue with Pierremont Mall I believe.
|
Superior Steakhouse is good food but wayyyy over-priced. They get high marks for atmosphere, though...and thanks to the health-nazis, ya cant relax in one of those clubchairs and smoke a cigar in front of that huge fireplace anymore.
|
The guy that runs wine country is a good friend of mine (I've been a little anti-social this month, I didn't even know it closed), I'll ask him what the deal was.

If anyone needs a sandwich on the go. Walmart on Airline Drive back by the deli has a lunch box [ it's a plastic box that folds like a lunch box] in it you get a sandwich [either ham or turkey] that has lettuce but no mayo or mustard. You also get an apple, pack of cookies, a cheese stick, a box of juice and I can't remeber if there is anything else but it is good and it is priced at around $2.50.
|
You're gonna love this, Pie! I went to the McDonald's on Airline Dr this afternoon for lunch because I left work early and it was on the way home. I made a rather simple order. And, of course, I had to send it back because they got it wrong. I seriously have never seen these guys get the order right. :freaky:
|
You know McDonald's is such a billion dollar empire it sounds like they just really don't give a rat's a$$ about their customers. They know people will continue to eat there because it's fast and inexpensive. For example even Pie still eats there after all she's been through at more than one location. People just keep on coming back regardless.

I'll agree with that!!! I only ate there in a hurry when the girls were little and of course they did enjoy the happy meals. We don't eat there at all anymore any of us! It's really pretty disgusting if you ask me!

That's the reason they put the playgrounds in so the kids will bug the parents to go there.:D |
I did try a place called Strawn's Eat Shop Too on Airline. First time there. But was impressed, it was very crowded. I had some of the best chicken & dumplings with green lima beans, salad, cornbread and iced tea. Very good, I'd give it a 8.
|
I eat at the Youree/70th Strawn's every Saturday. Fried chicken lunch, yum.

There's a new place in bossier, across from shady grove, near subway and taco bell- Its called" Gumbo to geaux". Great po-boys; catfish, shrimp,oyster,crawfish...the 10oz sirloin burger is good too! I had the chili yesterday and it was excellent. The owner was the chef at KonTiki for years and dated my sister in high school. He's a local guy trying to make a go of it- I love it!:D
|
South Bossier needs some new places! That's good to know Vix! I'll have to check it out! Rumor has it that in that new business mall that's going in behind Madison Pl. neighborhood there's going to be a Counter Culture. I hope that is true! I love Counter Culture sandwiches and of course the famous Humphrey Yogart!! YUM!:)

Papa John's
Don't order from Papa John's on Airline. We had pizza delivered 3 times, each time they had to take one pizza back and remake it. We don't call them anymore. I even tried to call the area supervisor and he would not return our call.
|
Did you try to order it with no crust or some other weird way?

Here's a funny one for ya Pie!
Man banned from buffet "She says, 'Y'all fat, and y'all eat too much,'" In my humble opinion serving anything "unlimited" is probably a bad idea and should at least contain enough fine print to baffle a good attorney. |

Sue for what? Damages would amount to about $20 unless you tried some "emotional distress" BS.
