Home Invasions - A REAL Problem

A woman told police she woke up to her husband screaming he didn't have any money. That's when investigators believe two black men in their late teens or early 20's shot the husband twice in the abdomen. He later died at the hospital.

Is there any doubt that we should have the right to own a gun. Why is it 90%of the time that crimes like this are committed by a young black male ? It is time for action by our government and they could start with public hangings

As horrible as they are to watch, public hangings are certainly serious deterrents. Unfortunately, no one will ever go for them because kids would end up seeing them too.

It is the kids that are doing the crimes

Isaac-Saxxon 05-10-2007 11:23 AM

Hey Joepole do you have a problem with that in your neighborhood ? You are close to the hood.

Neo 05-10-2007 11:30 AM

Maybe an age limit and admission fee. 15 yrs old and up and twenty five dollars admission. Sounds like a great crime deterrent, less tax money on housing and feeding criminals, and maybe get enough revenue to lower the tax burden on us honest tax payers. Maybe that could be the one eyed jack's stance for state income tax relief, instead of attacking the oil industry here...... what you say Mr. Foster?

joepole 05-10-2007 11:32 AM

I have been the victim of a home invasion 16 times in the last seven years.

Hope you have a big gun Joe. I see Spring Lake is a dangerous place to live.

Neo 05-10-2007 11:40 AM

Your kidding me Joepole, did you get a shot off at any of those scumbags.

Wow! :freaky: Under that kind of circumstance, I'd either have a gun or move out soon.

joepole 05-10-2007 11:58 AM

No guns, I just have the wife answer the door now.

I see, so what you are saying is that not only do you never intend to shoot a stranger in your home before identifying him/her as a reasonable threat to you or your family....you're saying that you don't even have the MEANS of doing so.

Why am I the only one who notices that some of you have a major problem with the words you type not reflecting the actions you take?

joepole 05-10-2007 12:38 PM

I have not really been home invaded 16 times in seven years. I honestly expected you all to believe that because it sounds reasonable and likely. You're too smart for me.

In Shreveport it is VERY reasonable.

I don't claim to know where you live or what activities you participate in. I merely give my opinions based on the information you provide.

joepole 05-10-2007 12:53 PM

I considered using a number like two hundred but figured sixteen was sufficient to convey the intended sarcasm.

Actual information:

I have never been the victim of a home invasion
I do own several guns
I do not send my wife to the door if I suspect it is a home invader
I have a twelve inch penis

BrainSmashR 05-10-2007 12:55 PM

I thought that was why you are called Joe POLE

Neo 05-10-2007 04:38 PM

I think it safe to say Joepole isn't in a shady neighborhood, hangin' with thugs, nor does he have a meth lab in the tub. That's why he is not getting invaded.

Good move on the wife answering the door, she screams and you have a few seconds of escape!

joepole 05-10-2007 05:06 PM

I can also hurl the babies at the intruder to distract him, making my getaway even easier.

Joking Joe he was the one afraid to cut the cake  so with all your post you have lost credibility as to when you are joking and when you are trying to tell the truth. Kind of makes you hard to take serious.

If you saw where i lived you would be in shock that we have any crime. WE HAVE CRIME! One family about a month ago, sad as it may be, the man was home alone with 2 large dogs (can't recall what they were) and a gun in the house. The baby he had at home was 18 months (keep in mind this is one block from my home i'll post where i live after this. This guy heard noise downstairs and went down no gun no dogs baby gate at the top of the stairs, he was attacked by 2 people wearing masks he thought it was his wife that came home since there was lights on downstairs. What these guys did i'm sure it was guys, they cut the screen since our electric bills are out of the roof here lots keep their windows open NO I DO NOT! I also have a loaded gun i carry around w/ me since i am home 24/7 mostly all day alone. Anywho, the guy was attacked, cut in the face with a knife and beaten with a flash light from these 2 guys and the dogs and gun did him no good.

scarlett 05-10-2007 06:17 PM

THis is what the place looks like here. IT's really nice and yes we have the HOA thingy you know 425.00 every 3 months i hear thats cheap here and i dread it so you would think we have a nice area but we live near an area, 10 miles or so from them? And well we get the issues of the rift raft

I have always thought if I pick up that gun be ready to use it. Now the dogs they can bark and maybe bite some but that gun barks too and it bites hard to bad the guy did not have it in his hand. These speed freaks have no fear so any house is a good one for them. I am glad you have a gun Scarlett and I know you know how to use.

Ok! Let's talk home invasions, everyone. What sort of precautions do you all take, if any, to better prepare your homes against an intruder (i.e. cameras, alarms, guns, evil-looking dog, etc.)?

Me, personally, I'm not necessarily against gun control, but I don't like guns myself. I do, however, keep a small arsenal of self-defense weapons. Other than that, it would be very hard for someone to break into our house without someone hearing.

As a matter of fact, some doped-up teenager snuck up to our house one Sunday morning a while back and got into my car in the driveway. We're not sure what he was trying to do as he was on the passenger side, but we heard him close the car door and I ran out there to deal with him. I saw cops patrolling the streets and KNEW they were looking for this kid. I flagged them down and told them some kid was hiding in my car. I went back inside, not all that concerned, until the cops come running up to the car, screaming loudly with guns in-hand. We were like, "Oh crap, they're about to shoot someone in my car." :freaky:

Fortunately, they arrested him and the cops asked me if I wanted to press charges for trespassing. Seeing how no one was hurt and nothing was damaged or stolen, I didn't press charges.

o.k. you two.. (BRAIN AND AL) GET A ROOM !! Private Messaging, use it, that's what it's there for.. What makes you two think the rest of us what to read this mess :D

TGIF everyone.

joepole 05-11-2007 10:38 AM

The other day after we were all talking about car accidents I saw like four of them on my way home and yesterday after we were talking about home invasions somebody knocked on my door at about 9:00.

It was my neighbors picking up their mail and newspapers, but for a second there I was kind of weirded out. The wife and I were cleaning up the kitchen so I did answer the door with a giant carving knife in my hand.

And don't forget that handy 30lb. sword! I'm sure it could do some serious damage!

But seriously I hope my husband is home because he is way better with a firearm than I am!!! I probably couldn't shoot an elephant! If hubby isn't there I'd have to put up some sort of a fight. I do have a baseball bat under my bed! I can feel y'all laughing now! Guess I need a new plan! Maybe some bow and arrows?:o
