John Breaux says he will not run for governor

John Breaux says he will not be a candicate for governor in Louisiana

Isaac-Saxxon 04-14-2007 12:38 PM

John Breaux just lost even more credibility

I am very glad he is not in the race and by law he can't even by a resident fishing license in LA :nono: He jacked up Kathy Blanco big time and now who is left Foster Campbell   That one eyed jack is from the old Edwards school of politics. Good news he is from north LA so he does not stand a chance. That is good news

Nice to see John Breaux doing something that will actually benefit our state instead of just taking up space in Baton Rouge again.

I was just glad to see the Attorney General stood up and did the right thing as well. To say you qualify as a resident just because you own land in the state is ridiculous. He is registered to vote in Maryland, his drivers license is a Maryland drivers license so thus you are a Maryland resident! Duh! If you want to represent this state, move your a@@ back here and pay state taxes for awhile and then we'll talk about it.

We pay Louisiana State Income Tax so I get to at least have a say, on this board anyway. We live in Texas just across the line but work in Shreveport. We vote in Texas. I was born and raised in Shreveport so I care very much what happens there and your governor sure doesn't mind taking tax money from me!

That must suck to pay so much taxes yet not get a (real) vote. Almost doesn't seem fair.

I heard that if you are an NFL football player, that you must pay state income tax for any game you play inside the state. So if you play in say 10 states, you pay taxes in 10 states and not just the one you live in.

Now that would be wrong. You would think they would only pay taxes in the state of their team. It does suck to pay all the taxes to Louisiana and get no benefits. I think we should at least be able to send our children who graduate from a Louisiana school to a Louisiana university and be able to use T.O.P.S. but we can't. We pay a "school tax" over here and don't even send our kids to school here. That seems kind of wrong too, but at least there is no income tax in Texas. Also, they do not tax groceries here either!!! Texas is not sad now is it?

Nope if you earn $12M a year as an all star, and you travel to Pittsburg and play a game for a day or two, and play 50 games a year, then you owe PA taxes on a quarter mil of your revenues..... approximately... Or so I hear.. I am not an accountant...

Isabella 04-15-2007 12:27 AM

We have had to pay state tax in two states. I was not a happy camper.

Isaac-Saxxon 04-15-2007 08:34 AM

You just pay your taxes in a different way

Called gas tax. All the miles you drive back and forth and wear and tear on your car and your time you pay to live in Texas Sista ! Well let us just say that Daddy Tacobelle pays  I do agree that LA tax rates suck and it is all going to the greedy handed government to give to the dead beat people that will not work but do vote. I am not apposed to paying taxes on my gains but to pay property tax just because I own it they can come once a year and levee a tax on me. This is WRONG

I drive no further from my house to Shreveport, Mr. Belle's office, than a person from say North Bossier would to say South Shreveport. It's actually quicker for us to get to Shreveport than Bossier people. My quality of life is much better than most of them I would say. It still is all about what you like!

I hate the taxes but oh well. There's no way out of it.

Oh yes there is a way out all right :nono: Tbelle are you a blond ?
