I saw Sonny and Cher in concert at the Hirch. It was the first concert I ever attended. My parents took me. LOL, my second concert was the Doobie Brothers a few years later and I went on a double date.

I really liked Daktari and I do remember Lancelot Link Secret Chimp on Saturday mornings. I can't believe it but Ms. Hertz doesn't remember Lancelot Link. I am 3 years older so that must be it.

I know they weren't on all the time, but the Peanuts Specials were so cool when I was young. Except for the Thankgiving one. But I really like The Christmas and Halloween Peanuts specials. I can even remember the commercials. Norelco razors sliding down the mountain. :D

Here's one, does anyone remember the show Branded with Chuck Connors.

Quote:

Branded followed the life of Jason McCord, former Captain in the U.S. Cavalry. Court martialled for cowardice under fire during the Battle of Bitter Creek from which McCord was the only survivor, McCord knows he is innocent but refuses to pin the blame where it belongs, his commanding officer, General Reed, who died in the battle.

You can buy the whole Peanuts holiday series on DVD. My daughter gave me the set last year. I still love them, but my heart breaks for Charlie Brown! Why can't he kick that football? Why does he get rocks for Halloween? That part I don't like because he's the nicest kid on the show. GOOD GRIEF!!! :)

Ol' charlie brown.. could never kick that football.. but he kept on trying, which I guess was the moral of that freakin' story :)

Personally I've always been a big fan of Snoopy, WWI flying Ace :)

As kids we made up our own silly lyrics to the Branded theme song. Here it is:

Branded.

All but one man died.
There at Bitter Creek.
And they say he ran away.

Branded, scorned as the one who ran.
What do you do when you're branded, and you know you're a man.

Wherever you go, for the rest of your life
You must prove, you're a man.

Full song (the above is the abbreviated TV version):

All but one man died,
There at Bitter Creek,
And they say he ran away ...

Branded!
Marked with a coward's shame.
What do you do when you're branded,
Well, you fight for your name?

He was innocent,
Not a charge was true,
But the world will never know ...

Branded!
Scorned as the one who ran.
What do you do when you're branded,
And you know you're a man?

And wherever you go
for the rest of your life
You must prove ...
You're a man!

I can not stand either one. Walter Cronkite is a left wing socialist pig. I am glad that the three networks lost control of our news and the net and other outlets can get different views to the people of the USA.  I am sure Walter Cronkite is good friends with Jane Fonda :nono: :nono:

rhertz 07-20-2007 11:54 AM

My vote is for Al Swearengen for President and Joepole as Vice President with Sir Isaac as Secretary of Defense. That ought to scare the bejezzus out of Iran! :D

Shawn Hannity is a jackass and even less electable than Ron Paul.

Texasbelle 07-20-2007 03:20 PM

The term jackass is solely reserved for you Joe and Shrillary oh and Obama too.

This might work except for Joe...he is too depraved. One Bill Clinton in office was enough!:D

Attachment 1130We talked about tv shows, here is a couple of cartoons.

Pocahontas 11-07-2007 08:57 PM

Last night Mr. Pokie and I were flipping channels and got stuck on Andy Griffith for an episode. We got to wondering why NOBODY in Mayberry was married? It's not like they were young and single and still looking. Aunt Bea, Andy, Barney, Gomer, Goober, Thelma Lou, Helen, Howard Sprague, Floyd...the list goes on. Some are dating and widowed but none married. Then we got to thinking about other shows with the same type scenarios.
I Dream of Jeannie, Family Affair, Gunsmoke, Rifleman etc. We thought maybe because they would have to deal with bedrooms. On Dick Van Dyke and Bewitched they were married but showed them in separate beds.
Something to ponder??
