Nice photos!

It is nice to see our cities growing! Now if the two cities can hurry up and get all the construction completed we might could actually get to more of these fine establishments! Trying to travel down Airline Dr. or Youree Dr. right now is a total nightmare!

nice article. and some cool pics. Made me think.. I know that I've witnessed much of the growth of the city here, especially recently, and especially in South Shreveport along Youree drive and all the construction down on Airline in Bossier. But it also seem quite amazing when you consider say how much of it all has happened in the last 10-15 years.

I mean it seems like yesterday, all that down around Youree drive was nothing but cotton fields.

I'm pretty patient around road construction, because I know when they get done, things are going to be wayyy better from then on..... the price for progress..

Railroad crossings are another matter. when was the last time you saw a train pull up to Krogers or Walmart? Why on earth do tanks of liquid chemicals and gasses need to cross the middle of town? Don't they make "industrial loops" for trains? It seems like cutting off traffic could even be a matter of life and death if someone is trying to get to a hospital.

Mr. Marsalis you did a great job on this column  One thing that is for sure and that is change. Road construction is a pain but part of growth. Good photos too

I guess those railroads have been around way before they were considered in the middle of town and I agree they sure could become a safety hazard! I HATE waiting on trains and traffic jams....I don't have much patience in the car! Guess you can say I'm a road rager!
