Heat Takes A Toll - People In The South Continue On
"You notice every year, even though our area gets temperatures into the 100s, we only see a few people seriously affected by the heat. But if a heatwave went through a place like Chicago, you might get a dozen or more deaths."

I would like to say a big thanks to all the workers that have no choice but to work out of doors this time of year! I do NOT know how they can possilbly sustain the heat! And yes even though those streets under construction are a pain they will be road ready sooner due to those poor heat exhausted laborers! It is appreciated!:D
Now I don't have sympathy for people who CHOOSE to jog at noon...they are insane!!!!!!!! Drink lots of water!:peace: |
well, my youngest came home with a note..."due to the heat..." Anyhoo, No School for that one till Monday:(
Because of the unairconditioned bus or are they having problems with the school's a.c? That is highly unusual!
We're turning these kids into a generation of namby pamby wussies...the un-air conditioned busses were good enough for us, they're good enough for these pampered lil bastards!
My goodness Al, haven't seen you around for awhile. It's good to have you back saying EXACTLY what you think.
I'm tellin ya, these kids are a bunch of candyasses these days! A little sweat wont hurt em none! :D
I agree about the school busses-I've heard Rush call it "the Feminization of america"
As far as Working in the heat, I spend about $20.00/day on gatorade! |
