Southwood High School coach is accused of sexual involvement with a 15 year old student

This is nothing new!
 

Back in the early/mid 80's at Parkway High in Bossier, there were atleast four teachers/coaches who were engaging in this sort of thing. Two of the offenders were coaches, and these guys thought they were bigtime studs...hell, they had to be to impress teen girls, right? Of the other two offenders, one was a well-liked male teacher, the other a female math teacher. Interestingly, I dont recall ANY of these people being brought up on charges. Guess it was just a different time.

Not to defend the man if guilty
 

The media has already had their trial and found him guilty. Now I am not saying he is not guilty but give him his day in court. Would it be the same if a good looking female teacher did this to a young man ? Note good looking ! Did this girl start this ? Seems to be going on in schools every where. If he raped her or drugged her one thing if she did the deed on her own desires then another thing. Let the court decide not the media.

Change back to the old school
 

When I was in public school the boys had men coaches and the girls had lady coaches in gym. I guess this could happen in any class but gym seems to be a place of less control out on a track or ball feild or a large gym. Change is needed for sure.

No I did not mean to say that. I am saying I have seen 15 year girls accuse men falsely of acts that they did not do. I seen this with a foster child and a good friend of mind and two other times with a daughter of a mother that remarried and the daughter made false accusations about the new husband to get back at the mother. I do NOT condone any 15 year old having sex with any adult ever. False accusations can be very damaging to a person and the media is quick to print a photo and place guilt on a man that is all my point was I did not word it well.

LOL, o.k. good. sorry for the miss-understanding. And yes you are correct. There's been more than a few times that false accusations have caused ruin to other's careers and lives.

In this day and age.. Teachers are afraid to even lay hands on a student.. in any kind of way.. and God forbid a teacher should find themselves alone with a student in a classroom at any time.

LOL on the other hand.. I know a few teachers who don't mind pickin' up a big ol' kid by his collar and giving him the what for, when they are acting like a jack ass, and we need more of them.

The teachers weren't so bad when I was in school, but the other students were total @$$es and the teachers just did nothing to control them. The worst problems I ever had in school with a teacher was one back in 5th grade who used her paddle a bit too much on the wrong students and one in high school who had a slight temper.

I'm with Snow, though. We had a male coach for the guys and a female coach for the women. I think that is probably the way it should be.

In that case I'm pretty sure the story would make national news with daily coverage by Greta Van Susteren.

The media is always looking for a way to make money
 

It is all about the money for the media and it does not matter who they use to meet their needs or how it might hurt someone. Heartless is the media. By the way is Greta Van Susteren a man or woman ?

Adults should know better. There are students who pursue a young good looking teacher wanting to have a relationship with them. This does not give the teacher the right to have an affair, though.

They should know better but some people are born with it and some people never ever get it. What I mean to say is some guys and girls never have enough cool about them to hook up with someone their age so they prey on younger people that do not have a clue. You see these people all the time but you may never guess that they are such loosers.

The coaches I was speaking of were acting in a teaching capacity when they became carnally involved with those students...they were teaching civics, or rudimentary math, or some other subject that a coach could get away with teaching.

Yes Al you are correct.. at least from what I remember was going on back at Parkway High back in the day. simply crazy.

I see on KTBS news this morning that there "may" have been a group thing going on here and that the police would have more to say on this today. Seems there are some text messages and I will say that is evidence of this guy involved with this under aged girl. If in fact this man is carnally involved with a 15 year or more than one 15 year old he should answer to the charges.
