Port To Build New Dock
 

A cooperative agreement between the port and the Red River Waterway Commission must be approved today before construction can begin on the dock.

That is a heck of lot of money
 

I fish around the port almost every weekend and that place is very large and runs all the time. They dump allot of waste into the river and some morning it is very strong. The smell is not of proteins but of chemical organ. I have seen dead fish just south of the port and fish we do not eat they taste like soap.
I just hate to see the river get more pollution for a big company that will make all the money and oh yes the parish will get their cut too. Kind of like the protein plant down town loose - loose deal. That all five years ago was still virgin wetlands now smoke stacks. :nono:
