East Bossier City gets hit hard with storm

Severe thunderstorms hit east Bossier City this morning

AnimeSpirit 02-24-2007 03:06 PM

You're not joking! I just drove down Industrial and several power poles are snapped in two like toothpicks! Mobile homes are turned on their sides. Commercial signs and billboard sheets are on the ground. That area will be waiting a few days for power to come back on.

KSLA has some footage of it on their site. The video airs a short Mazda commercial, then shows some storm damage in Bossier from earlier today.

Last week I spoke to a friend whose uncle's house was one of those distroyed in Bossier and pictured on the news. My friend said he was impressed with the response towards this disaster. I'm glad to see it in the news when we do get it right. I'm tired of the Katrina disaster being two disasters, one a weather disaster and the other an ongoing governmental disaster.

I think the fact that only a few homes where damaged and no one really hurt made a quick response much easier for the emergency people to deal with. I think that Katrina would overwhelm any towns ability to respond. I know the politicians in Bossier got their run out of this event.
