New Jersey Governor

Quote:
The governor's sport utility vehicle was being driven by a state trooper at 91 mph (146 kph) when it was clipped by a truck and slammed into a guard rail on the Garden State Parkway. Corzine was not wearing a seat belt, which is a violation of state law, but he has not been cited. The trooper driving him wore a seat belt and walked away from the crash. No one has been charged.
I'm sorry the Governor got hurt, but why was a state trooper driving him around and why was he driving 91MPH? Were they being chased? Why wasn't the trooper ticketed for driving so fast? Why did the Governor only apologize for not wearing his seatbelt? Was he trying to avoid discussing the rest of the story?
