Sometimes they fall off even when brand new. I recall the Chase aka Bank One aka First National Bank Building downtown loosing some of its bricks (or pieces of brick) soon after contruction. I wouldn't like to be walking on the sidewalk and have a chuck of brick fall 10 stories and hit me in the head, but guess they solved their little problem with that building a long time ago.
