I wonder if they are comparing doctors to doctors and lawyers to lawyers so to speak. Since many professionals are self employed, I'm not sure I believe this statistic. And not both genders do not always choose the same occupations. I know some women doctors and lawyers that do quite well compared to men. But if we are comparing a historically male dominent position like oil and gas professionals to a historically female positions like teaching, then perhaps so.
