If you are unable to provide for yourself during normal summer weather perhaps it's your time to go.

I would really hate to be so poor that I could not afford a fan at Walmart or water. In fact, I find that difficult to understand with all of todays social services. (welfare, social security, etc.) Although I do admit the government hoses us on our water bills (pun intended)

Even window air conditioners can be bought for under $100 nowadays thanks to China. If they are going on a PR drive, I wish they would at least upgrade to air conditioners and electricity over fans and water.

If you can't afford an A/C what are the odds you can afford to run it?

Our society has an unhealthy obsession with prolonging life for life's sake. Old people die, we need to accept that.

Yeah well, I think old people should at the very least die with AC.... JMO.. I really hope I die with AC and not a fan, regardless of my age on my death bed.

I hope I die long before the point of needing the police to intervene on my behalf.

With your attitude the police would probably not even help you. You are one of the few that will be all alone.
As for Rhertz and you, there are a lot of elderly that have to make choices on staying cool or buying medicine. The government doesn't care if you are cool in the summer or warm in the winter.

Good, that's one of few modern examples of proper applications of government.
