Have y'all ever seen that t.v. program Intervention? Not only does it deal with drug and alcohol addiction but food addiction and cutting as well. I was horrified when I saw the episode where the girl cut herself to relieve pain and stress. In some sick way she felt better when she did this. She had to find new places to cut as to hide it from her parents and she began cutting near her private area. It was so freaky! I wonder how someone ever tries cutting for the first time??

NO way I could understand the need to cut myself. Heck I do it enough with out trying

Yeah that's hard for a normal person to relate to. Which is probably why parents need a basic awareness. Othewise, who would believe??

I'm with you IS. There is no way I'm going to cut myself for the heck of it. I don't even go to the doctor if I know he is going to give me a shot. One time I stepped on a snake when I went out the front door at nite. He was on the step and it was dark. I went in and told husband. He wanted to carry me to the doctor, I said no because I didn't want a shot. He pulled out a snakebite kit. Took the knife out and wanted to use it, I told him to get HELL away he was not cutting me. He got mad and told me to lay there and die. Said I would, I never did go. But I'm Still here. My point is a snake didn't scare me enough to do either.
