Shyne decision was overturned - but not unanimously.
This may well be the dumbest political thing I can remember happening in recent years. Thankfully win or lose, he's not representing my district. |

That is insane. Sounds like bad t.v. Convicted of a federal crime, receives a Governor's pardon for his crime, but wait .. oh no.. no Presidential pardon ??

Hey, what the hell do ya want? This is Lousiana....the politicians are crooked, the food is spicy, the weather is muggy, outside its buggy, the water tastes like it came from the ditch in your front yard and the hole damn place smells like a tipped over Port-a-Potty thats been cooking in the sun for a week. Oh, and I almost forgot...the sports teams suck!

Yes the Saints if that is who you speak of, have let me down more than a few times, but I'm still rootin' for them, epecially in these difficult times down in New Orleans. If not even so much for the Team itself, but for what ever bit of hope a winning season could bring to the honest folks who are still trying to make a go of it down there. When I read about these folks, been paying into home owner's insurance for 30 damn years, payin' on their houses all this time to have it all washed away, and the Insurance company say "oh we wain't payin'" !!!! Well ..I guess Ive been a denizen of this great state since..oh, lets see.. 1972! Guess Ive more or less earned the right to slam the place...and it's athletic clubs, it's politicians..the whole shebang. Occassionally, when Im fed up with the heat, the corruption, the sordid mess we call "home", I'll let fly with a soulfull rant. Having said that, its never my intention to offend. And, I think just about anyone thats been here longer than 24 hours would be inclined to agree with me wholeheartedly. My sincere condolences to those who have lost their homes and lives to Katrina. In the aftermath, which is still going on, New Orlean's incompetent fool of a mayor and his pet rat of a police chief have committed nothing less than the most serious violation against the Constitution, insurence companies have screwed homeowners, and whats changed? What else is new? Hell, maybe rebuilding that crime infested sewer aint such a great idea after all.

I don't know if this is true or not, but is New Orleans is the birthplace of Jazz? If true, this might make New Orleans the most unique city in the entire country. That is, unless someone can name another city that is the birthplace of a new genre of music.
