Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards is bemoaning the growing divide between rich and poor as he returns to the signature theme of "Two Americas" from his unsuccessful 2004 White House bid.

Yes there are two Americas John Boy

Your America where the public dole is how you buy votes. Then there is the God revering part of America I think we call them red states and towns that support the idea of no work no pay. Dead beats drag our system down and as you can see and will see Shreveport (blue town) will continue to decline and Bossier City will continue to wax stronger. Just the plain hard facts. John Edwards and his PC crowd can take there lies and stick them where the sun don't shine.

The "growing divide between rich and poor" is a myth. We have a growing divide between cognitive classes, everything else simply follows that. We have a culture that celebrates ignorance, ascribing nobility to poverty and failure.

I can't start a new thread, so I'll post it here.

Here's a map of the U.S. with states labeled with the names of countries which have similar GDP. The next time you start worrying about Russia flexing its superpower muscles just remember they have the same economic clout as New Jersey.

Russia still has ICBMs and a nasty attitude aimed the west. I think Putin is trying to take over all the oil fields and use that to extort Europe. I am sure John Edwards would love to help push us toward socialism. Nice map joe
