The case had sparked international outcry. In a rare criticism of its Mideast ally, the White House had expressed its "astonishment" over the woman's sentence. Canada called it barbaric.

So the Saudi's caved under international pressure. This shows their weakness to defend their law, religion, or both... IMHO. I hope she is able to escape the country before they get back to normal business when this blows over.
