A woman killed a raccoon with her bare hands Thursday when the animal attacked a young boy. Officials say the woman was walking in the woods around 11 a.m. with a group of children when the animal bit the 5-year-old son of a friend.
She pulled the raccoon off the child, told the children to run home and strangled the animal, authorities said.

And now the heroic woman is getting treated because the thing had rabies!
I would not have known what to do other than pick up a branch or broomstick and swat at it. I could NOT have grabbed it...I have trouble getting lizards out of my house which lately seems to be a problem. Guess they are trying to get cool.

A Coon is not something you want to mess with! As a child, we had one as a pet, and they can be quite vicious

I also trapped many of them for thier skins- we could get $25-$35 each.

My next door neighbor had a pet racoon and they are vicious after they grow up.

We had a coon. Mean female. Ended up letting it go. They can carry rabies from mother to baby in uetero. It is latent up to four generations. I had two skunks one black and white the other red. Pet Land Shreve ****ty. Old man Owens sold them. Strange pet and they would bite you if you tried to hold them. What were my parents thinking ???? Must have been the led paint
