Troop Surge In Iraq
Locals with opinions on the war in Iraq and those whose families have shed blood in that ancient land walked away late Wednesday night with mixed feelings from President George W. Bush’s plans for pursuing the conflict.

Right or wrong, President Bush is a man of principle and consistancy. He cannot change his mission any more than a zebra can change its stripes. This is one thing that I do like about him compared to Mr. I voted for the war before I voted against it. Some politicians change their mind with every new poll.
Sometimes I want politicians to do unpopular things. If all they did were the popular things, we would have a socialist form of government by now with every entitlement imaginable funded by massive taxation. On second thought, we are pretty close to that right now. I see little difference between republicans and democrats most of the time. I really don't like super rich politicians who are "grandfathered in" with their own personal finances, yet who won't cut taxes so other families can have that same opportunity for wealth someday. And yet after taxing the heck out of us, they won't do things we really should do such as border and imigration enforcement, fight wars against enemies who kill us, or build coastal protection, etc. What did the feds and state do with all that Oil and Gas revenue they collected this past 50+ years from Louisiana? More than any other state, I feel that we are pillaged, then we turn a blind eye towards our elected officials, like they are some kind of movie stars or something. |

Hey there rhertz. Now you opened with a great statement then you got on the fence and at the end you fell off President Bush should hold the line and do what is right. Heck he is not worried about being reelected. I think we should take it to these Arab #$##$ and do not stop until the leaders are all looking up a rope

Do not despair, Pugsly...someday, there'll be a second American revolution, and any politician still living will find themselves tarred and feathered and run out on a rail. We have a long memory!
