This is a metal jar opener (Edlund Co Burlington VT) with a red wooden handle from the 1950s. It is in excellent condition and works smoothly while opening or closing. This item was purchased in Jefferson Texas about 10 years ago.<br />
The patent # shown on this item is 1894556 which makes it between 1933 and 1934. It also has the following on the top of the metal (Top-Off Jar and Bottle Screw Top Opener)
