Chimp Haven to resume Discovery Days

Chimp Haven will resume monthly Discovery Days Sept. 8.

The first event will be from 9 a.m. to noon at the sanctuary near Keithville in southwest Caddo Parish.

Guests will be able to learn about chimpanzees' intelligence and how they learn and teach each other. The day also will feature special events, icnluding a presentation about electrical safety from 9:45 until 11 a.m. The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office will offer fingerprinting for children.

The first 300 school-age children to attend the event will receive a free Chimp Haven pencil and pencil pouch.
