Bobby Jindal intends on running for governer

Jinal(R) sent out an email to his supporters announcing his intention to run for Governer again.

I wonder how different the Katrina response would have been if we'd had a competent governor.

He'll get my vote as well. The unforgivable transgression of the hurricane victim's Second Amendment Rights should have landed Blanco's, Nagin's, and Compass's asses in prison.

You can pry my gun (Colt Diamondback 38 special) from my dead fingers! For those interested in robbing me, I keep it under my bed in a "gun safe" with quick combination lock. My children cannot access it. But I can - in less than 5 seconds with the keypad.

Yeah my setup is great as long as my 9v transistor battery that powers my gun safe doesn't run out. In that case. I can place a fresh battery on the external contacts to open up the safe! But of course, that takes about 2 hours while I drive to the store to buy fresh batteries. LOL I just need to remember to do my bi-annual maintenance along with my smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. (all use 9v batteries) yeah like that's going to happen.

I'm 46 years old and I bought the Diamondback at 18 years old as soon as I was legal. (big grin) It has a 6 inch barrel (vent rib) and is simple but effective. I'm not a big "gun person" and I don't own an "auto". I would probably get hurt with an advanced piece of modern machinery such as that!

RHertz, first, I applaud you for exercising your God-given Second Amendment right. Owning guns is an important and essential part of your American heritage. In fact, the right to own guns, perhaps more than anything else, is what makes Americans unique among the many peoples of the world and sets us apart...and you need not be a "gun person" to recognize the incredible utility of one of the greatest tools ever invented. The revolver design predates the autopistol, but not by much. Some of the earliest autos, such as the Borchardt, date from the late 1800's. I've owned many autos in my time, and can assure you that they are extremely user-friendly. Being a gun enthusiast, I'm familiar with the Colt Diamondback. Basically the mirror image of the vaunted Python, the only difference being that the Python was chambered for the .357 magnum cartridge, which means it can also digest that .38 special ammo your Diamondback fires (important safety note: attempting to fire .357 magnum ammunition in a gun chambered for .38 special will result in damage to the gun and worse, severe or fatal injury to the user). You probably already knew this, but I would've been remiss in not re-stating this fact. In any case, your well-maintained Diamondback is a fine revolver that will only appreciate in value. Fine firearms, and even some of the cheaper examples, have an intrinsic worth on a par with gold or other precious commodities.

I don't mean for this to turn into a "gun thread" but I alway wanted a "Python". I grew up in the realm of "dirty harry magnum force" movies with the infamous 44 magnum, (by Smith and Wesson) but the .357 python has to be the most famous pistol of all time. (for my generation)

My other favorite gun in that era is the plastic "nylon 66" automatic .22 rifle. Those are the only two guns I bought in my teens. A Dimondback and the Nylon 66 that is.... Other than that, I am fond of Remington shotguns such as the 870 pump.

My older brother had a Remington Nylon 66...very distinctive rifle with the brown plastic stock and the nice white diamond on the forearm...tubular magazine that loaded thru the bottom. Before our father bought myself and younger brother our own Glenfields, we'd take his Nylon 66 and a few boxes of shells and go exploring the wilds of darkest south Bossier!

Yes, those were the days. See, this is what I'm talking about...these are the memories every young American boy should have. Yeah...I always wanted a Python too, as David Soul's "Hutch" carried one in the popular TV series...come to think of it, Soul starred as one of a group of rogue motorcycle cops in the Dirty Harry flick "Magnum Force", in which Soul's character also carried a Colt Python!

I think Jindal will be great too and I voted for him last go around. The Dems
are on a roll and lets hope Kathy Blanco goes back home to make cookies for her grand children. This state is mired in a history of governmental problems the great parish system is in place and anything below I-10 gets the eye of the political machine because the largest part of our population lives there.
No Governor ever comes here or cares about north LA. They do need our tax
dollars to fix the mess Katrina left behind. God bless the victims and the politicians may they get spanked in to shape to take care of our state and get us off the handicap state list.

I agree. But I think our way of thinking could fall by the wayside in a new world of political correctness. I'm proud to say that my 13 year old son is pretty sharp shooter! So I think at least I did my part (despite Mom's objections)
