Post 3rd Annual LA Boardwalk Holiday Tree Lighting

Real SNOW falls at the Boardwalk every night at 7pm!

The 3rd annual Louisiana Boardwalk Christmas tree lighting ceremony, hosted by Jody Lowery and Chrissi Coile of KTBS-TV 3, will be held this Tuesday, November 20th at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Bossier City mayor Lo Walker along with local and state dignitaries, Build-A-Bear Workshop’s mascot and Santa will flip the switch, soon after 6PM illuminating the Boardwalk’s 35-foot Christmas tree, as well as, kicking on the lights and decorations in the surrounding areas.

The Deliverance Gospel Choir will sing some holiday favorites. The Caddo Middle Magnet Starline, Fairfield Pom Pon Girls, and the Broadmoor Baptist Orchestra will also perform. Copeland’s Cheesecake Bistro will distribute free hot coffee and cheesecake samples to those in attendance.

"Boardwalk guests will be treated to a 10 minute snow storm with the Boardwalk Blizzard, a Holiday Light and Water Show with the Boardwalk Feature Fountain and 15 light towers along the Red River." stated Ray Tromba Manager of The Louisiana Boardwalk. "In fact, we just got word from the North Pole that Santa Claus will make his first North Louisiana appearance at the Boardwalk on this special night."

Please bring an unwrapped toy to the Tree-Lighting Ceremony. Toys collected on this night will benefit children in Shreveport/Bossier City through the Toys for Tots organization. Children and adults who donate an unwrapped toy between 5:30 P.M. and 9 P.M. on November 20th will receive a FREE Louisiana Boardwalk Holiday Coupon Book with savings of over $500. The Toys for Tots donations will be collected throughout the season at the Louisiana Boardwalk Information Center, as well as Bass Pro Shops.

NOTE: Visitors will be able to experience a live snow fall at the Boardwalk at 7pm nightly with the Boardwalk Blizzard. The Louisiana Boardwalk will also offer free gift wrapping throughout the Holidays at the Information Center. Also, if you get to where you have too much to carry to your car, then the Boardwalk will call in the Elf Express. Elf Express will come to wherever you are at the Boardwalk and assist you in getting your packages to your vehicle. The free gift wrapping and Elf Express are services provided by local non-profit organizations being used as fundraisers.
GENERAL PUBLIC: Please call 318.752.1455 or go to www.louisianaboardwalk.com.
