Saban: "I-Bowl a Defining Game"…Hawkins: "No underdogs!"
Final I-Bowl Press Conference with "Bama & Colorado" 12-29-07 By: Tom, Pace, Executive Editor, SBLive! December 29th, 2007 “This is a defining game for us…” said Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban. Saban and the ‘Tide’ started off the final press conference for the two teams Saturday morning in the media room at Independence Stadium. Both Colorado and Alabama are 6-6, coming into the 2007 PetroSun Independence Bowl, and both would like to end on a winning season. Problem: Only one will. (You can listen to Saban & his players’ news conference in its entirety by clicking on the Podcasts Icon, and ‘Saban News Conference- 12/29/07’) “I don’t believe in underdogs,” said Buffs’ Head Coach Dan Hawkins. He was very adamant about that… “No David-Golith match-up…” he said. In his second year as Colorado’s head coach, Hawkins said he treats his players like family... “with tough love, if necessary.” Both Alabama & Colorado had two seniors in their press conference to answer questions from about 50 members of the national and local media.
