Harry Potter Hooplah

What do y'all think about the Harry Potter book series? Do you think it is okay for your children to read them? I know alot of people find them evil and think they will have a negative affect on their children. Let's hear what y'alls opinions are.

I haven't read any of the books, but the movies seem rather entertaining. I don't see any negative effects from them at all.

The people I typically hear speaking of them as a negative focus on the series' usage of "witchcraft" terminology and topics, but the stories actually bear very little in common with the actual Craft.

My son has read all the books except the last one. When he was younger, he really enjoyed reading them. But he didn't even want the last book when it came out last month. Not only that, he didn't want to see the last movie so I took my wife and daughter and we all three enjoyed it. He is starting high school and maybe he is too cool for harry potter now.

I have seen the movies except for the last one. I too have seen all three of the Lord of the Rings. I see darkness in these movies and I see light too. This world this life is all about choice between the two. The Matrix too had the same theme of good vs evil. Add Star Wars and many other movies. Seems to be a great topic to draw millions to the theater. I must say for the most part is void of sex and still draws millions. Each soul or entity must ask the question what is the Matrix ? I think for very young children it might open their eyes and rob some innocence from them. Each parent should make these decisions for their own kids.
