If it was a deadly weapon he would have been charged accordingly.
There's a 99.9999% chance that this kid is a huge pain in the arse to all of his teachers and this was finally an excuse for them to get rid of him. If he had been a decent kid nothing would have been pursued. |

I don't even see a state statute for third degree battery. I'm sure it meets the standard, though. Third degree is not as bad as second or first.

I'm wondering why a 14 year old is still using crayons in school!
Was he held back several years? |

My son (16) got 2 days of in school suspension for squirting a little water at a classmate between classes. This busy body girl reported him to the schools dean. The boy, a friend of my son, never said anything about it. And the Dean never talked to the boy.
The Dean called it harrasment. When talking to him I quickly realized he was not going to listen to anything I said. I figure they are covering their asses plain and simple. |

Come on, throwing a crayon at someone would be almost like throwing a weinnie at someone, now a pencil would be a differnt thing.

It's this ZERO Tolerance in schools today, that kids in SO MUCH trouble over the stupidest things. A kid takes an aspirin to school and gets suspended. A young kid draws a picture of something that LOOKS like a weapon, they get suspended. My mother is a principal in a private school.. has been for almost 30 years. I won't go into the stories she's told me, or the descisions she's made.. but she takes everything at face value.. Dependent on the story, the student, the circumstance etc.. that's my .02 LateNight. |

Well lets see, one why is he throwing stuff at his teacher, back in the day that would have gotten him sent to the principle or coaches office and he would have taken a few licks for his misjudgement.
Why do we have zero tolerance in schools? I'll tell you, because the first time a white kid was let off and a black kid was punished the NAACP or ACLU would be at that school screaming racism. So in order to be "fair" everyone is treated the same. So if little Billy who is a straight A student and never gets in trouble brings a letter opener to school and little Bob brings his grandfather pocket knife into class to cut little Jerome, they get treated the same. It's parents and societies fault, if you want to place blame look no futher than the loud mouth mother at the PTA, the one who never knows where her children are, never helps with homework, and could care less about the education of her childrens! |
