Post Bossier City Breaks the 100,000 Mark

Louisiana has lost nearly 200,000 citizens to other states since the 2000 census, mostly in the wake of hurricanes Katrina and Rita ravaging the Gulf Coast in 2005, shows data released this week by the U.S. Census Bureau.

But Bossier Parish is seeing a rarity — population gains that have propelled it over a long-sought threshold, the 100,000 mark

Many people leaving Shreveport and moving to Bossier

No reason to look to far as to why. The last election shows the direction that Shreveport is going. I know crime rates have gone down that does not change the nature of the crimes and the people who are doing the crimes. Bossier PD does a great job and it is not as hard to manage Bossier as it is Shreveport because of size alone. This all started in 1990 or close to that time and it has picked up pace.

That sounds about right. Bossier cops are also trigger-happy, which likely helps keep crime down. Or does it just decrease the population of criminals? I dunno, but crime isn't as bad on the BC side for sure.
