Razorbacks, Alabama Possibly in I-Bowl Mix
Razorbacks, Alabama Possibly in I-Bowl Mix – Saban in Shreveport?
Petrosun I-Bowl Chairman Joe Darwin talks LSU: Is Miles Gone? By Tom Pace, Executive Editor, SBLive! November 29, 2007 Arkansas, Alabama, or South Carolina in the Petrosun Independence Bowl? It could happen, according to Joe Darwin, 2007 I-Bowl Chairman. Darwin sat down with SBLive!’s Tom Pace, in a one-on-one I-Bowl Interview, just 4 days before the actual bowl selections are announced: Live on ESPN, Sunday Night, December 2nd , starting at 7 o’clock CST. And, what about Les Miles leaving LSU? Darwin reflects on the Tigers record this year, their chance of winning the SEC Championship (he thinks it’s very possible)…and Miles future as remaining in Tiger Town (Darwin believes the emotional tug of returning home to Ann Arbor, Michigan, might be too great for LSU to overcome.) But hey, as Yogi Berra once said, “…it ain’t over, ‘til it’s over.” Darwin also gives the viable selections for the Independence Bowl from the Big 12 and SEC sides as of this Thursday, November 29th…saying, it’s been Said that Arkansas could very well be a choice if Tennessee wins. (Click here to listen to Tom’s interview with I-Bowl Chairman Joe Darwin) How about Texas A&M in Shreveport again? There’s another wrinkle in the I-Bowl picture. Darwin says that list might also include: Colorado & Oklahoma State. As far as Colorado coming to Shreveport, Darwin says, that would be the first time the Buffaloes would play in the Independence Bowl, and he thinks they would be very excited and travel well. I-Bowl ticket sales are pacing ahead of last year, Darwin said, and knowing that many folks wait until the teams are announced, he expects an excellent turnout for this year’s bowl game. In fact, the earlier you purchase tickets, the better seat selections you have, and at $30 a ticket for the South End Zone, it’s the best ticket price of all the bowl games. (Click here to buy your I-Bowl Tickets on-line, or call 318-221-0712.) Whichever teams come to this year’s game, you’re sure to be bowled-over! Last edited by sbl_admin; 11-30-2007 at 04:38 PM. |

I'd like to see Alabama play in the I-bowl two years in a row. Last years game was pretty awesome. Most overtime games are. I took my son and he loved it. We've seen some good football over the past year IMHO...

I would love to see that match up. Heck if it did not get televised then I might even go see it. Have to pull for Arkansas.

I want Miss. State!!!!
I think they would be a great fit for the Indy Bowl. If ya'll remember, last time they were here it was the "Snow Bowl". |
