Search for armed robber in Shreveport and Bossier

Police from both sides of the Red River were searching for an armed robber Thursday night. The robbery happened at the Family Dollar store on West 70th in Shreveport. Officers say a masked man armed with a sawed-off shotgun walked in, demanded money, then fled in an SUV. Officers chased the SUV into Bossier. Two women who bailed out of the vehicle were taken into custody. The driver ditched the SUV at an apartment complex on Industrial Drive. Canines from Shreveport and Bossier are on his trail. The man is believed to still be armed with that sawed-off shotgun.
