How do you celebrate Mardi Gras?

Do you attend the parades? I usually just make it to one of the 2 big ones.
My daughter lives on the parade route so it makes for comfortable conditions.
A warm place to wait for the parade and lots of food and beverage! I also get a ton of beads which makes it fun!

I go fishing out of town and enjoy the fact many others are at the parade and parties. Lucky me !!

I will be going to New Orleans for the weekend in 2 weeks. It's a certain weekend I go and there will be 4 parades that weekend. I have already had my special tee-shirt made to wear so I'll get lots of beads, I usually average 2 50lb onion sacks full plus some. I usually donate some of the beads to the school so the kids in the pre-k and kindergarten has some to throw to the other kids when they have their parade around the school. My Tee-says:
Do you like the S in
LOUISIANA
Saints
Sex
Seafood
Throw me something Mista
And it is decorated with crawfish, alligators, Mardi gras maks, beads.

Having been born and raised in Texas, and now too old for binge drinking, it's a non-event for me. But I do like those King Cakes!

Well , now that you reminded me....I scrounged around and found this pic I think is you. I heard when at the parade you like to sit back, drink the wine, and just let the beads fall where they may!!!!
