Last Modified: September 12, 2008Movies in Production

During the first 6 months of 2008, 14 movies in production were responsible for creating 1,500 temporary crew jobs, paying the invoices for 14,000 nights in local hotel rooms occupied by movie company employees, and injecting a total of $185 million into the local economy. Shreveport is a great location for companies that are in the business of making movies because Louisiana’s tax credits are so advantageous, the entire region surrounding Shreveport contains a seemingly endless variety of interesting locations for shooting, and everything a movie production company needs can be obtained locally, quickly, and relatively inexpensively.
